EXETER – The Exeter Centennials men's soccer team hosted Clinton Aug. 4 at Exeter Community park, dominating the game and coming away with a 3-0 win.

The first half saw chances from both sides with neither opponent able to find the target.

After halftime team striker Andrew Prout was welcomed back to the field with friends and family singing happy birthday from the sidelines. Although embarrassing, Prout may have used it for motivation, as he was able to score two goals in the half.

Both goals were scored on solid runs to the net by Prout and Jared Easton, with Prout striking the ball for the goals. The game's only other goal came from mid-fielder Jacob Unwin, who received a perfect cross from Costas Kollias.

Team spokesperson Dan Kinsman said Centennials goalkeeper Kevin Parkin continues to impress and made numerous saves in a shutout performance.

A late chance in the game saw Tim Burtch strike a head ball that the Clinton goalkeeper just managed to get a hand on, keeping it out of the back of the net.
