EXETER — The reconstruction of Andrew Street remains unfinished more than two months past the expected completion date as the Municipality of South Huron continues its talks with the company contracted to do the work.

While the approximately $1.5 million project — which includes the installation of water and sewer lines, sidewalks, curbs, boulevards and the paving of Andrew Street between Sanders and Wellington Streets, as well as a portion of Hill Street — was to have been done in June, contractor PCN Construction of Lambeth hasn't yet finished the job and as of last Friday there had been no work done on the project in two weeks.

South Huron chief administrator Roy Hardy told the Times-Advocate on Friday that what primarily needs to be finished is the paving of the roads and the completion of boulevards and driveways.

Hardy said the municipality continues to hold discussions with PCN to work towards the completion of the project

"It's a process, and it's a long one. We're trying to work our way through it as effectively and efficiently as we can."

Hardy added, "We're trying to keep the road in a usable condition for people while we're getting arrangements made to finish the project."
